    Looks kinda familiar doesn't it?

I don't think it's that Luminox is crap. I think it's that their QC is crap, which is why you have some people who love theirs and some who think they're Invictas for the mil-style crowd. A Luminox feels too much like a dice roll for me.

The Marathon ripoff is nice, but a ripoff. Have you thought about a used Marathon? I mean, I'm sure you could get a TSAR for under €500 if you don't mind the quartz. Some GSARs that are a bit "lived in" routinely for for like $400.

I had a Tawatec a while back. Solid watch, but watch for models with tritium in the seconds hand. I think they can cause some trouble with crystal clearance.

Then by all means, find a used TSAR!

Not affiliated with this seller, just using it as an example; but that is dirt cheap and on the bracelet, which itself is worth $100-150 and is excellent (I have one on my GSAR). One of the most comfortable bracelets I've ever worn, it was the bracelet that turned me back on to bracelets.

There are tons of deals like this--some worse, some better--on watchrecon. Worth a look. Tritium may not have the life of Superluminova, but you've probably got 5+ years left on most used model.

Agreed. I picked one up a short time ago, very lightly used, with bracelet and rubber strap, for under $400. Great beater/nighttime/movie watch.
    Updated after some divestment:

Glashütte Original Senator Hand Date (GONE) | Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow (GONE - turns out I don’t much care for chronographs) | Omega Seamaster 300 GMT "Great White" | Rolex Datejust 16013 | Ulysse Nardin 14K chronometre (c. 1960s) | Marathon TSAR | Meistersinger Metris | Apple Watch

I'm with Glenn - what's with the huge butt-ugly designs of many tritium watches?
I decided to check out the H3 hype with an MWC PVD G10, bought as a damaged return on ebay - quick reset of a detached second hand and voila, tritium for $50 total!

I'd recommend the Marathon Navigator, which is well within budget and has genuine military cred rather than just pretending it does.
You could also shop around for a used Ball, I got mine for under 500€
