The U.N.C.L.E. trailers I've seen make it pretty clear to me that Henry Cavill is not a viable Bond. He may get what it takes in ten years or so but right now he's just way too pretty and lightweight for the part, imo.

I agree about Fassbender. He'd be a great Bond, reminiscent of Fleming's literary idea. Book Bond didn't have the same build as Daniel Craig, whom I think has been brilliant in the role.
Damian Lewis? I'll burn my Bond Fan Club card.
Tom Hardy? Extraordinary actor, without a doubt, but to close to Daniel Craig in terms of screen presence.
Henry Cavill? Maybe when he's forty. Maybe.

This sort of speculation occurs every few years. Every actor born in a Commonwealth country gets mooted as the next Bond.
Everyone from Freddy Highmore to Geoffrey Rush.

I loved Casino Royale, it might be my favorite Bond movie, but each movie after I've liked less than the one before. I'm hoping Spectre is more to my liking.

Here is Cavill in a suit.

He rules himself out of the running by sporting a Windsor. "Bond mistrusted anyone who tied his tie with a Windsor knot. It showed too much vanity." :-)

    Theo James

The only thing I've seen him in is the Divergent series. He strikes me as pretty young for Bond but maybe they want someone who won't age out too quickly.

Well, he's 31, but I am now hearing this is just another rumor.
