what led me to the BP bathyscaphe

thought i'd provide better pics than the original thread:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

anyways, coupla years ago when I first read about it on ABTW & Hodinkee...I thought to myself 'I wonder how it would look on a bracelet?'
fast forward a few months and I had a chance to try it on at an AD and left not particularly impressed..higher end piece on a nato just didn't seem right..even if its a high end nato
that, the 'plain-ness' of it and that I was jone-sing for a Zenith El Primero lit no fire

somehow, it kept popping up on blogs and what not, I reached out to my personal watch enabler dealer..
a week later, he got me a used piece for a great price...bastard.

    stark & clean dial

    nicely bevel-ed date window cutout

applied indices are always nice = white gold I think?

    minimal dial writing

    matte-ish in certain lights

    super glossy in others

pairing well with the ceramic bezel

i fitted in on a 24mm HR curved end rubber strap, shaving it off with a paring knife

    the solid buckle looks great

i generally like crown guards..this works well without

which leads me to the kickass movement

5 day PR with a gold rotor

its running at +1/day I think..?

so purrty..and the strap fits so well!

green lume works well with this fella

i never say never..but this is probably a long term keeper

Cool! It's not quite to my taste, but it is a really nice watch. Is the lug width naturally 22mm?

Love that watch, sporty and classy all in one. I'm glad its 43mm size puts me off !!

There is a bracelet available for the Stainless Steel version Mikey, thought about getting it?

Ah, that would put me off, that's for sure. 43mm is a great size, but that's too wide for 43mm, and I don't like odd lug sizes.

It wears well but design does 'enlarge' it a bit...and yes, annoying 23mm lug width.

The bracelet is soooo space agey..i should really find out how much it costs.

Could always go for a Victorinox bracelet or strap for that matter, a few of their watches are 23mm lug width.

I only know because I have an Airboss Mach 4 which came with a bracelet and I procured a genuine Victorinox leather

Great looking watch. Really like the clean dial and the case finishing.
