Thanks, Jeannie - I think many of us need this thread as FB has become depressing and toxic. My wife and I are slightly hermit-like by nature, and since I have my studio here at home it is rather easy to leave the house only for errands. We have a nice little market in walking distance, and a trail to walk that doesn't risk close contact. We are living in an area that has the third highest COVID19 infection rate in the country ("Silicon Valley" ) so we are not taking it lightly. Our gym has stopped the special class my wife was going to (for Parkinson's) and I am not sure I need to expose myself to a public setting in a gym if she isn't going... so I am just trying to get work done in the studio and with new artwork (painting.) I worked on several acrylics today, and finished some ink work like these a few days ago.

now you are just showing off next to my feeble attempt

I can paint a house -furniture like a pro ..but wish I could find a medium to work in on the more artistic side .. but my strength seems to lie in repurposing things.

Well, what you're doing is a lot more pragmatic!
I'm just playing. It gives me something to do when I don't have much drive to make music (which has been often, lately.)
Too many watches, not enough wrists.

I really suck at changing watch straps. Today’s distraction was to change the strap on my ochs ünd junior. I’ve never really cared for its straight 22mm strap and big square buckle. So I rummaged through and found a nice black strap from my Dan Henry, which I never used. It even has quick change spring bars. Perfect!

So first I needed to get the old strap off. Did I mention I suck at this? It was very hard, super tight fit, but finally I succeeded. I should have realized that tight fit could be an issue going forward... So, I put the DH strap on, but it won’t stay. After a while it becomes clear that the spring bars aren’t quite long enough even though they’re supposed to be 22mm. So I find another strap that’s 22mm, but the buckle end is 19mm. Who makes that?? Undeterred, I find a spare 18mm buckle and squeeze it on. The strap is soft enough that it’s not a problem.

I then get two new 22mm spring bars from my box and, after some struggle, get the strap on. But the spring bars were super tight now. Better than too loose, I guess.

So that distracted me for the past hour.

Here’s the final result, which as I hoped is way more comfortable.

Do you have a Bergeon 6767-F? That makes bracelet/strap swaps so easy.

Yes, I do. It’s the user, not the tool, I’m afraid...

If you were all thumbs I'd believe it, but you play instruments, make music, etc. Maybe just some practice on a beater would help bring up your confidence.

Some people have opinions - The rest of us have taste.

Thankfully, no gouging occurred, only frustration.

Today’s guitar—1969 Fender Telecaster that I bought for $225 in the late 70’s. Heaven knows how much it’s worth today. Challenging to record because I’m trying to do a squeaky clean direct part so I can re-amp it later with effects. The Tele is notoriously unforgiving when played clean, any bad note or intonation sticks out like a sore thumb. Numerous takes will be required...
