I'm not affected, I'm one of these:
A funny observation is that the world seems to be catching up with my common-sense hygiene habits (hand sanitiser, sneezing in the elbow, not touching everything mindlessly, not wandering around when unwell and spreading the joy, keeping away from individuals who seem unwell...).
So while not having to distract myself, I've spent a lot (and I mean a LOT) of time lately browsing backpacks and looking for one that would meet my requirements perfectly. It's almost as addictive as browsing watches.

Well, what you're doing is a lot more pragmatic!
I'm just playing. It gives me something to do when I don't have much drive to make music (which has been often, lately.)
Too many watches, not enough wrists.

I'm appalled by those wantonly "heading out" in high risk areas, one of which we live in, it is not socially responsible IMO.
My wife thought me crazy (what else is new) when we stocked up three weeks ago with our "survival kit" groceries and paper goods, but who's laughing now? 43 rolls of toilet paper, case of sani wipes, 3 cases of mac n' cheese, tuna galore, dried fruit, nuts, oatmeal, frozen pockets, trail mix, cereal and Parmalat milk; we are ready to kick Covid 19's ass.
As a result of the down time, I have ordered two watches and three straps as well as a bunch of clothes from Nordstrom Rack and Haute Look. I may be broke and very lonely by the end of all this.
I did the same thing, I saw this coming before the news frenzy. I can literally stay in my house for months and not have to leave. In hindsight, I do wish I picked up some powdered milk and powdered potatoes, but plenty of oatmeal, dried beans, rice, and canned sauce and pasta, etc.. I'm also lucky that I can work from home, and have a lot of things to keep me busy even outside of work, home gym, darkroom for photography, (need to set it up, maybe now is a good time to do it), scanning the film from my Ireland trip, guitars and amps, and along with Netflix, I subscribed to Masterclass. Unfortunately my Stereo and turntable are not in this house with me... I have a bunch of new albums to listen to, But can't right now - least of my worries to be honest, but it would be nice to enjoy some music while hanging out at home.
I am shocked more people aren't taking this seriously, and simply shrugging it off as a bad cold or flu. Weather you are young and healthy with a strong immune system, it does not mean you are immune to potentially contracting the virus and therefore won't be at risk to spread it further...
And I don't want this to turn political, I am active on another forum thread and there are plenty of opposing opinions on either side of the spectrum, but I can guarantee you this, the virus doesn't give a rip about who you vote for... Be safe people, and use some common sense, and think about others in this situation.

Like @skywatch, my studio is in my house, so I've ramped up finishing my second album--working on the second to last song currently. I'm slightly less prolific than Robert, since this will be my second album (not counting my daughter's in 2018) in 17 years. Well, I was busy! And unlike Robert, not a professional musician (not for many years now).
My wife was already having trouble adjusting to me being home all the time after I retired, so we're practicing spousal distancing--she works on her writing in her office on the second floor, and I work in the basement studio. I don't go to the gym, I have equipment at home, so I don't have to worry about working out, which definitely helps.
We're in that annoying "almost in the danger group" category--we're in our early 60's but healthy--but it's pretty easy for us to mostly stay home. We haven't given up on going out to dinner yet, but we're careful, picking places where tables aren't close together and using sanitizer, etc. Retaurants are quiet but not deserted; we're not in a high risk area, and other than panic buying people are reacting pretty rationally so far. We're not as stocked up as some people but we're certainly fine for the next couple of weeks. Hopefully the panic buying will subside enough that we'll be able to buy toilet paper again well before we run out...
Other than movie nights and the occasional show, we pretty much are homebodies other than some club and business-related meetings, so for a few weeks or even a couple of months, we won't go too crazy so long as we keep up the spousal distancing. Also, as the weather gets better, walks in the local park and (for me) fun drives in the country will be a safe outlet.

We already live semi-isolated lives (retired, just one local relative, not great socialisers), so it’s business, or non-business, as usual.
I grew up with stories of turmoil and privation during the war, so now it’s my turn, and at least no-one’s dropping bombs on me.

Why
Why are the media going to town on this
Afaik many recover, according to reports, so not fatal to all. It's said that most who have had it won't know , no symptoms, nothing, yet the press keep on and on
why
