    So I have this watch.

It's one of the few that was never in doubt during my sell-off. This Tutima Flieger Chronograph F2 UTC (whew...) is still on a bracelet as I wait for the blue alligator strap to arrive. Two issues:

    1. I think the minute hand is too small, but I'm not going to do anything about that yet.
    2. There's a lot of blue going on coupled with the fact that all hands are roughly the same size. I've got three choices
      1. Keep the UTC hand blue (probably won't stick with that)
      2. Paint the UTC hand enamel-red so it matches the marker on the bezel. I think of this as the solid, traditional watch guy choice...In the Explorer II / best sense of the phrase.
      3. Strip the UTC hand to the metal for a brushed or high polished finish. Brushed would be less prominent, but polished matches the coin edged bezel and I guess would be more useful for a third hand. This is my wife's unconventional / non-traditional / creative idea.

    Any thoughts or other ideas?

That chrono looks really nice, but I (think) see your point. I would probably go red, because - as you say - it matches the marker on the bezel , while a brushed or polished finish, against a silver/white dial, would most certainly compromise the legibility...

I'm sure there's someone on here that can virtually paint the hand red so you can see the effect , someone did it for me with a bracelet I was contemplating the other week.

    Very elegant watch!
I'd go with red, then you probly wouldn't need to do anything with the minute hand - as I can see hour/minute hands are lumed and it will be easier to distinguish them.

I just took red marker and "painted" it on the screen - it looks fabulous!

You're a practical man Mr. Seriously. Yours is the best place to start since the mind's eye thing isn't all the reliable..,plus given my job is IT related you'd think I'd know how to do that. Other idea in the meantime is the metal finish with red tip.

Needs bringing up in colour though, a slightly brighter (and glossy) red methinks? ... to better match the red 12 marker.

    (personal opinion of course)

Photoshop eye-dropper tool says it's the same red

Shouldn't the more engorged one be the red one?

Thanks a ton! You knew what would have happened left to my own devices...The Paint thing is weird isn't it? Not sure if I'm just lazy/obstinate or perverse in my insistance on using it. I think it looks pretty nifty...or could it be considered distracting? Just for kicks I dropped the size down to maybe 1/3 larger than the actual watch and then to the actually watch size to see if the presentation could be viewed with greater accuracy.

I'm afraid if the word "engorged" gets used too much I may cease to be comfortable wearing the thing.
