Had this one on so far today, my boy loves doing impressions of what time it is so it makes isolation a bit more bearable! One day after all this, when my numbers come up on the lotto or something, I would love to get an original Chaykin piece, I think the man is a genius horologist.

Was it the 'weighty shock' that I find mine to be after leaving it 'dormant' for any length of time ?

Precisely. Especially after wearing the 4.7mm thin Citizen and my vintage Seiko... I have been eyeing a Sub (16610) yesterday, and I am wondering if I can deal with wearing a Sub style watch again after taking a long break. That's actually why I chose to wear it today.

I always thought my first and only Sub would be the no date variety (5513 or 14060), but I found one that has a nicely faded slate blueish bezel that I can't stop thinking about... It's not even in the greatest condition, but still looks right. If I can wiggle the right deal I may go for it, but honestly now is not the time for me to be buying new watches... We'll see.

The flip side is I have been thinking about the 39mm White dial OP which is more my style - simple dial, no date, no numerals - and I have actually tried one on too last year, should have bought it.

I know how that feels: Tried on an Explorer I a couple years back and it was/is everything I'd hoped it would be - I was 'that' close to paying and walking out of the store wearing it when I had a massive attack of guilt (I should be spending the money on other things), and back-pedalled. Hey, Ho.... One day.

Explorer 1 (36mm) is on my list too...

Contenders for my 1st Rolex in no particular order, but if I could find one, the DJ might be top pick.

1 14060 No date Sub, preferably the 2 line, but I'll take the 4 as well
2 16610 Sub date (older with tritium dial) and bonus if faded bezel insert
3 Explorer II 16750 (Black or White, still can't decide)
    4. Explorer I (14270) 36mm (tritium dial)
    6. Oyster Perpetual 39 (or 36) in white (Brand New, and probably the least expensive and best value).
    7. Date Just 1600 (silver pie pan dial, smooth bezel) Bonus if birth year!

I should mention that Grand Seiko is in the running too.

Not likely to pull the trigger anytime soon due to the current crisis situation... need to reserve just in case.

    It was the 214270 2016 39mm I tried on; the lumed 3, 6, & 9 do it for me...
As they do on my only other Rolex interest, the 116000 36mm blue dial.

Well, I say 'only' other interest: An 'unmolested' 1962 1016 would be nice, but pending a windfall - it'll likely remain a pipe dream.
