Nothing quartz unless you also stockpile batteries. I'd have to go with the Mako as it has so far proven to be pretty bullet-proof. I'd like to go with the Explorer but I'm afraid it would draw attention in the post-apocolypse world and someone would steal it/make me give it up.

Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

I think a good combo would be a solar G and some type of a handwinding mechanical watch or two.

Remember all those old threads about your "apocalypse watch"?

Seems to be anything in the box. Even an automatic mechanical is in order including Rolex. No one has time to care what your wearing. A gold Rolex or other gold watch might seem more valuable now since gold may become the new currency standard.

I have no apocalyptic expectations and I do not think there will be a breakdown in rule of law from this mess we're in (maybe in pockets if there is a natural disaster/loss of power), but generally speaking, in a true catastrophe situation the currency standards would be water, food, medication, shelter, fuel, and ammunition. Isn't that how it played out in post-Katrina New Orleans?
