Oh my, I missed this thread back on April 4th. You handled your "treatment" and recovery very well. Glad you are all better now.

Interesting reading Kath, really glad you got over it.
My wife and I both had it (about the same time as you in fact) and our experience was very similar to yours. Exhaustion and shortness of breath were the main symptoms. Like you we didn’t get tested but we’re pretty sure we had it. It was certainly not really like anything else I’ve ever had.

Quick take:
- 3 days of feeling dreadful, then exhausted for 4
- first symptoms: sore throat, intense headache (‘like a helmet’), high temperature
- coughing follows, chest pain, shortness of breath
- J & I both had intense muscle pain at the site of previous injury
- C & I found it came and went in waves of feeling worse, then not so intense, then rough again
- I lost my sense of smell temporarily
Hmm I have these symptoms, plus diarrhoea (which I've only had like twice before). Actually, annoyingly, considering the aforementioned, I haven't lost my sense of smell. Test tomorrow if I can get one in Turkey... My temp is fine though - they take it everywhere.
I get about 4 headaches a year, am never ill (haven't had a sick day in 3 years) and thought this might be heatstroke, a water bug, or some sort of diving related sickness but I'm thinking not now. I'm knackered - going to bed at like 8pm, and I'm never tired. Urgh.

Which remains the likeliest explanation, but good luck, Geoff.

Hospital experience wasn't bad - nice and quick and they did a chest Xray and ecg in addition to the pcr swap right up my nose (gag) which concerned me regarding the cost (and fight with the insurance company). Amazingly it cost £55 all in so happy days. They also issued me with hydroxy chloroquine which I don't think works?
And they told me the swab test was only 50% accurate so if it comes back negative I still have to self isolate for 2 weeks. Great.
But this says they're closer to 100% accurate? No idea. Fml.
