Here’s a watch filled with the promise of better days ahead; perhaps spent in the warm blue waters of the Mediterranean. ;)

It is Panerai’s newest timepiece, a special edition of their most historic watch; introducing the Radiomir Mediterraneo Edition AKA PAM01144.

Before the uninitiated start spitting feathers, the Radiomir’s roots are actually quite heavily steeped in . . . seawater for one as it was originally the fruit of a clandestine project developed for the diver’s of the Italian Navy -

but also in radioactive material as one of its prerequisites was a brightly glowing dial which lead to the name Radiomir.

Today, I guess we could say that it’s the dive watch that doesn’t dive; however given its heritage it is a model that is worthy of our attention.

PAM0114 is based on a 42mm in diameter, AISI 316L polished Stainless steel case which has a water-resistance to 10 bar / 100 meters. Btw, it has a bigger 45MM brother made from Titanium.

Special features include: a sun-brushed blue dial with old-Tritium colored markers, a dark blue alligator strap with contrasting stitching and bright blue lining as well as a special Sapphire crystal exhibition case-back.

If you're a little tired of sun-brushed blue, check its sexy ceramic sibling PAM00 with it trendy green dial.

The case-back features a laser-etched wave pattern recalling the Mediterranean Sea while affording views of the P.1000 beneath it.

The P.1000 is a new, hand-wound mechanical, caliber, executed entirely in-house by Panerai; the twin-barrel movement has a power-reserve 3 days.

PAM01144 joins five other Mediterraneo Edition models released in 2018: PAM00932, PAM00933, PAM00934, PAM00945 and PAM00946. MSRP is approx. 8’280USD.
