Thread: Christmas in July

    Christmas in July

One of my favorite songs is The Little Drummer Boy. It's not just one of my favorite Christmas songs, but one of my favorite songs in general. I've got 3 versions I like:

    The Silvertones - Reggae

    Alejandro Fernández - Spanish

    Harry Simeone Chorale - uhh...Chorale I guess..most famous too

I don't like Joan Jett's version. I appreciate what she's can do, but it doesn't work here. It's an odd request, but if anybody's got a version they like go ahead an post.

Probably my all time un-favorite Christmas song, for some reason.
The one I find most tolerable is this one:

And don't even get me started on Bruce Springsteen's version.

I'll listen to that Mariah Carey song twelve months a year.

Memories . . . my Dad loved that song, every Christmas season when we were kids, he would play a bunch of songs in the evenings as our family did whatever we were doing. This was a particular favorite of his, seems like only yesterday . . .

I can still remember a lot of things about that time - including the album cover for the record. I'm going to try to write something about this later that doesn't make me sound like a nitwit.
