My sincere condolences. I have not been posting much on these threads lately, but that's for other reasons. This is pretty serious stuff happening, and it's a good time to show that we care whenever possible. Much love - R

So I had a call from my local public health department today. A student in my son's class was tested positive for covid. So it's 2 weeks quarantine for my son now. Family-visit that was planned on the weekend (father-in-law's birthday) is cancelled. Tomorrow morning the whole class gets tested and we can receive the results in a couple of days.

Results in 2 days is quick, sort of. My son had to wait nearly 2 weeks which equals the quarantine period.

They didn't exactly say 2 days (non-native speaker here -- I always thought "a couple of" means "a few") -- they couldn't say exactly how long it would take as it depends on the workload of the lab. Normally they try to give you the results in 24 hrs though. I hope it won't take two weeks.

Best wishes for the Sedis.
It’s good to see a protective system that seems to be working.

Good luck with the diagnosis and quarantine, Sedi. I agree with Tribe that it feels good to see a system in place to help keep it from spreading. We had a bit of close contact here in March and April, when our tenant, his girlfriend and our neighbor all had it. We had been very cautious and stayed healthy, and luckily everyone else got through it OK, but it did set us up for a very cautious year.
