Thread: Typewriter style numerals?

  1. #1

    Lightbulb Typewriter style numerals?

Do you know of any watches with those?

    Like Courier: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0.

The only one I can think of that comes close is this Victorinox:

I'm wondering how such typewriter numerals would play out on a dial - and whether it would be better to keep it straight and clean or immitate irregularities and 'bleeding' of an old typewriter.

    Edit:
    .........12
    .....11......01
    ..10............02

    09................03

    ..08............04
    .....07......05
    .........06

Not Courier-like, but one of the appeals for me of the Aevig Corvid was it’s printeresque numerals

    Gah! Photo upload hell
It's the final countdown! PM me before they're all gone!

I first read that as pinteresque and thought they were a long way apart.

True, I was looking at it yesterday I think, but it didn't come to mind now. I like the design but the STP movement is an effective showstopper.

Not exactly typewriter, but the font has something 'machinal' in it, no?

Here's a picture of Kath's quartz Corvid. I picked it up from her in her sell-off, but I eventually sold it because I didn't care for the visibility (translucence? opalescence?) of the mineral glass crystal. The font was cool, though.

Too many watches, not enough wrists.
