Oh my, I shouldn't go to estate sales (Longines Ultra-Chron content)

Few of us really *need* another watch, do we? I certainly don't, so I try to avoid estate sales, for fear of just that. Today, though, I found something very affordable that I have been longingly looking at for several years - a mid-'60s Longines with their 36,000 BPH movement. At the same sale I saw a 1950 Tiffany 18k sold gold chronograph (well out of my price range) so I guess this deceased person had a few nice watches!

I know it's a bit on the dressy side for many of your tastes, but those of you who know me here, might remember that I have quite a fondness for vintage watches, and I am not allergic to gold (although I don't generally seek it out, it's just that good-condition non-gold vintage watches are really scarce.)

So with no further ado, I introduce to you my new mid-'60s Longines Ultra-Chron

Too many watches, not enough wrists.

Retro cool. I try to stay away from estate sales for this very reason.

I don't need another watch, but I will BUY another watch given the chance.......

Yup, in my case at almost any opportunity, it seems, alas.

    Beautiful.

I've never been to an estate sale though there are quite a few around here, lots of old family money. I know a few people that have walked away with phenomenal deals from them. Perhaps one day..

That's a real beauty. I must hit some estate sales one day, too.
