    ESPY Award confusion

    I don't get it:

    1) First they'll give "Caitlyn" Jenner the Arthur Ashe Courage award ?
    2) Now the ESPY's is on ABC ?

My apologies for alienating non-US viewers

Aren't ESPY awards reserved for professional athletes?

My apologies if I'm way off base: I despise award shows of any kind and do not follow or watch them, even for segments I like.
It is now my duty to completely drain you.

Ok, I knew that, but wasn't her last athletic achievement in like 1975. Is she still considered an athlete?

I understand that, but for 20 years it's been ESPN's flagship show of achievement and charity...to move it to network TV, certainly appears to be a ploy for media circus attention.

It was a dumb social statement.
