    Always have a backup !....

Just in case the Accurist doesn't make it (depends if I can get the minute hand right ), this will be my backup entry:

Excuse my blowing my own trumpet, but: I've just finished sprucing it up, and I'm rather pleased with the results.
It's a bit of a pity that it's gold (I don't do 'yellow metal'), else it'd be a keeper and I'd gladly wear it.

Right, the “Orish” is dead I’m afraid. The balance wheel is bent out of shape and I am not confident it belongs to this watch as if you tighten the cock the end shake disappears and it all goes to pot. So I’m going to have to withdraw it.
I did have the Seiko’s as a back up but I cannibalised one of them to get another one going.
So I’m sorry, but I’ve got no dog to enter the race with, apart from a bad ‘Orish’ or some bits of Seiko that now have given another watch life. (The pair would be below £20 I think but the main one was bought a long time ago). Gutted.

Ma'an that was a test of my patience; and it was rather stressful.... was worried I was going to snap the end off every time I 'tweaked' it. It took 7 fittings before they lined up, so I guess 'lucky 7'.
A proper watch maker would have done it in two, I'm sure .... First fitting to see where it fouled, and would know exactly what adjustments to make.

Not much of a gap, but all it needs.

Anyhoo: I'm going to leave it alone now. It's running, all hands are the right way up, clear each other, AND are set in the right position.
So, I'll put it back together and sort out a summary for the entry thread.
