Nevertheless I agree it's an exquisite design. It's pretty much exactly the sort of watch I love.
Too many watches, not enough wrists.

Personally, I would have voted for the one on the far right.

YouTube reviews usually annoy the hell out of me, but that one is remarkably well-informed and articulate. His visualisation of alternative treatments of the 6 and sub-dial is very neatly and persuasively done.
Naturally, I don’t think there’s a problem at all. Overlaid numerals have been a feature of watches since the days of the pocket watch, and they look entirely natural to me. Avoiding the overlay usually leads to something that doesn’t look as good, especially when you’re following an historical template. Proportions go missing, sub-dials become too big or too small, watches become too big or too small - depending on which way you make an adjustment. And the pivots are fixed points, so it’s rarely a case of “Why can’t they just...“
The reviewer thinks the watch is pretty much perfect, and I agree. He thinks the lugs might be slightly over-extended, which is something I hadn’t really looked at, but will now.
Following Robert’s practice, I have tried to find an off-putting feature but can only come up with the automatic movement. Ideally, I’d rather it was manual.

It’s galumphingly and hamfistedly wrong.

What about the 19mm lug width ?..... That doesn't bother you ?.... Could limit any 'other strap' options.
I also think 30m WR is a bit 'lame' (for want of a better word); I'm reasonably sure it would be adequate, but if Eddie (to name but one) can get 100m on a push-in crown, why can't Longines do better than 30m ?
