Sometimes I’m not too bright
I always wished I knew the production date of my Omega Dynamic. If only it had a serial number. Why didn’t it have a serial number?
And then I took a photo of the back -
Ah...

Well, it is pretty small, and not in the usual place...

Ahh well, now do you know the date of the lug?
Too many watches, not enough wrists.

And it's still one of the best backs in the business.

Quite common on most modern Omega. Serial number (on the lug) should replicate the movement serial number.
Edit: Are you going to open that case back and check the movement?

Not a chance. When I open watches they die.
The serial number does confirm my assumption that mine was amongst the last made, which is consistent with it being NOS when I bought it.
The serial number is hardly visible with the naked eye, and the light was just right to capture it on the photo. I did then remember that the lug position was not uncommon on Omegas.

Hmmm. I have a ‘65 Seamaster stored away. Could it have a serial on the lug? Getting access to it takes some time.

They have had numbers on the Lugs for a long time now. This TZ article has it going back to the 90's though they say sequence number not serial number. So it may not match to the movement.
