Thread: Thrift store score!

    Thrift store score!

    Hey Cats,

Before I brag about my latest find I just want to say I've gone no where but my life is full with bull$hit again so I'm distracted, however I do try to get out there for the hunt from time to time 😊

So anyway on with the find! Picked this up at my favorite thrift store for the usual. Fitted a battery and off it went, a perfect start to the find! 😊

Checked it's accuracy and that's good so the second criteria had been met 😊

Now the mess of the watch has to be addressed. 3hrs of careful hand work and a fresh Hirsch Mariner later and now my wrist is adorned with a pretty rare piece from the minds of Longines 😊

The outdoor photos failed to illustrate the massive amount of damage to the crystal, the case edges were also pretty rough but oddly the top of the case is in pretty nice condition. 😊

    Pre clean up.

    Post clean up

It's a beautiful thing and as my pal and I find out researching last night quite valuable.

    Peace,
    Preston

That is awesome, I know it is mind numbingly low, but please do share with us what "The usual" equals in $, so we can be even more jealous and impressed with your resourcefulness!
    Regards, T Bone

Even a broken watch shows correct time once or twice a day. I ought to know, I have a few!

Picked it up for the price of a coffee or two basically. Under $10

    Preston

Great score. If I remember correctly this movement was shared (but named something different) with Omega.
    Cheers,

    Michael

Tell everyone you saw it on IWL!
