It would be in Florida, but an everyday item here.

There are still some ‘VR’ pillar boxes about, ie. from the reign of Queen Victoria. Keep ‘em painted and they’ll last forever!

One of my favorite TV shows of all time is called How It's Made. One episode was on the company that casts those Royal Mail boxes. Great episode.

Wow, her time was a few years ago! If you ever get the chance please post a pic of a VR box. And maybe all of the various types and sizes that are out there in use today.

In 2012, after the London Olympics, the Royal Mail honoured British winners by painting their local pillar box gold.

I’ll try to remember to snap local pillar boxes, but I’m not moving far in these partial lockdown times. The one in our village is just a small wall box.

Elizabeth (or Edward), Victoria, George. R stands for Rex (King) or Regina (Queen)

Soon you’ll see CR (Charles) and then WR (William)
