You tried it on but you didn't buy it.
I thought there was a thread like this but a perfunctory search didn't turn one up. We have all sorts of new arrival and incoming threads but one dedicated to the ones you didn't buy might be fun. Even if you do buy it later.
I tried this on but didn't buy it.
I was attempting to convince myself that a 40mm cushion case is too big for me.
It. Is. Not.
It is also a handsome piece in real life. The one I tried on has a dial that is more charcoal than straight black. If the jewelry store knocks it down to 50% off I am probably on the hook.

Loathed as I am to use this, it totally applies here WTF ?! That's just wrong
I recently posted this in the Rolex AD thread - Also relevant here:

Went to the AD to try it on - A lovely thing that just oozes quality; but looked and felt too small on me

My 'collection' is missing an ORIS (amongst a ton of others !) - I want an ORIS, but haven't yet found the one that says "Buy me!" - I try on ORIS watches on a regular basis at the local AD during my lunch breaks; but still searching for 'the one'
Some people have opinions - The rest of us have taste.

Several Nomos models. I think I'm going to like them, but on the wrist they don't look right. I think it's straight sides on a slim case that I don't like.

Tissot
Chopard
Just to name a few...........

Same here. Rolex (Daytona, several DeepSeas, several Submariners, Explorer, the hideous yellow gold blue dial Yachtmaster), Omega (Planet Ocean, Speedmaster Co-ax), Breitling (Navitimer B01, Emergency), Bremont (ALT-1 P, Supermarine), Panerai (uh, can't tell the difference between models, really), IWC (Portuguese, Portofino, Aquatimer), and many, many others. I've taken a day off work to go to Tourneau and try on watches I couldn't afford at the time. It's all part of the shopping/research portion. It's like test driving a car.

I forgot Omega. Specifically went to try the PO 8500 as I was convinced I had to have one. I know it's a great watch and all, but it just didn't feel almost $8,000 (full AD retail) special to me.

This was 4 years ago. I was between the PO black/white, PO chrono black/white, and the Speedmaster Professional; the rest is history. I'll still probably swing around and pick up an old 3-subdial PO Chrono in black with white numerals at some point. My brother's has had some problems with it, but it's still a gorgeous watch and visually better balanced than the newer model (thinner too, I believe, since it doesn't have an exhibition caseback).
