Oops
Crown was unscrewed (though not pulled out) in the shower. I'm 'stuck' in Turkey... Wonder where the nearest omega dealer is...

Oh no! You’re probably the only person here who hasn’t got several back up pieces as well.

True. I have the iwl watch spare, back in England...I don't think I've ever heard of anyone flooding a watch before.
I have no idea why the crown was unscrewed! I didn't touch it
I read 1 week before corrosion could kill it. Need to get this sorted. One service centre in Istanbul, that I've just left. Worst possible timing

Stick it in a bowl of rice for now maybe.

Yeah need to buy some. Or I can try explain to the hotel why I need uncooked rice. They don't really speak English.

That’s got scene from an 80s sitcom written all over it. What was that one with Keith Barron? Duty Free?

Ouch :-(. I've read that freezing it till you can get it serviced is a good idea. But probably not really possible in a hotel. Damn.
Cheers, Sedi

Ouch.
Funny, to me you screw down the crown not to increase water-tightness but to prevent it from being pulled out accidentally. I slightly changed this view when I saw a drawing somewhere explaining how the mechanism in (some?) Rolexes was actually designed to tighten up when the crown was being screwed down. Not sure where Omega stands on this.
