Wowzers! That's pretty crazy. Is the bezel original?

It was a special Omega run of war vintage style watches. This one had a serial number of XXX of XXXX.

The bezel is original to this limited edition.

The movement was based on the Broad Arrow movement, only the auto bridge was removed and a handwind spring and spring barrel was used. They were also nice enough to remove the half notch of the crown to set the date. Nice, professional touch.

Darn accurate, I noticed that the chrony seecond hand whipped real fast on reset. One day, it was too fast!

Omega fixed it for free, of course.

    Cheers!

The 1945 officer's watch! Love that watch.

Found two pieces recently for sale locally. One NOS absolutely mint (a bit too expensive) and the other, not too bad, but without box and papers. It usually doesn't bother me, but for a limited edition I would rather have the whole package. Not sure I can resist...

Mine is no longer mint. It was with me in a severe car accident. The edge of the bezel is scratched with some of the window glass that imbedded itself in my arm. I no longer wear it on Mondays (day of me crash). But still very much enjoy it!

I think it was patterned after one of their earlier watches, but my mind is fuzzy on that now.

Good memory, Peter. It was still "there".

But only recently I found the models I mentioned here. Anyway, NOS or used, they're going to need a complete service and quite frankly, I'm not in the mood for a 3 or 4 months wait and a few hundred euros bill later.
