Watchbuys Nomos closeout October 1
FYI, Watchbuys is dropping the Nomos line and will be having a closeout sale starting October 1, if anyone is interested.

Includes straps, so those lovely Horween jobbies could be a bargain.

uh-oh.
I think I'm safe. The one I really want doesn't exist. I probably did that on purpose to save money.
What do I really want, may you ask?
It would be a 39mm Lambda in Stainless Steel for under $10k.
Too many watches, not enough wrists.

But depending on discount one of the gold ones might meet that price point.
Cheers,
Michael
Tell everyone you saw it on IWL!

I wish I could see what they have, but I guess we'll have to wait.

Hah! Well, yes, but you see, I worked this out very well. The white gold 42mm Lambda looks beautiful, but it's way too large for me. As it is, my 40mm Ludwig is almost too large. The only 39mm Lambda is in yellow gold. I would prefer white gold or platinum if it's going to be a precious metal, but SS would be perfect.
Nomos has carefully avoided hitting my sweet spot with their highest end, and for that I am very grateful.
(... that, and I find it easier to talk myself out of a $10k purchase than a $1K purchase...)

The one watch I love from them is the Zurich world time (blue dial). But as a retired person unlikely to do much (if any) future world travel, I have no use for it any more.

Yep
Zurich World Time (white dial is my preference)
Ahoi Atlantic
Orion 38 (white)
Lambda 39
I'd take any of these (and maybe a Club)
I'd love to continue traveling, not sure what the possibilities are in the near future, but even if I were retired, I'd love to travel. Last trip was to Ireland and England Last year in late October .Was AWESOME!
BTW, I visited Lotus in Hethel and actually met Clive Chapman

Oh yes, if I was in America I’d be half-scared to look at the price of this one -
It’s the only semi-affordable watch I have on my list, and it’s been there for years, a little like the Metro that I eventually bought.
I’m sure it would still be out of budget, though - and it certainly would be after import fees to the UK.
I’m intrigued by Watchbuys’ reason for dropping Nomos, but we may never know. The first thing that came to mind was Wempe’s decision to drop them after they teamed up with Chronext. I recently read that a dozen companies have an arrangement with Chronext, but Nomos is the only one to have talked about it.
