Thread: White dial sporty watch

    White dial sporty watch

So, still thinking about a white dial, sporty watch, since the only one I have is the Snoopy. I really thought a lot about the Nomos Club, but the lug gap and lug to lug of 51mm makes me nervous without being able to see it in person. So I'm contemplating other options.

    Basic criteria:

    Stainless steel
    White dial
    39-41mm
11mm or less thick (I'd prefer 10mm or less, but that's aspirational).
    No chronograph.
No date, or date at 6. I'd consider a really well done date at 3 in a pinch.
    No divers or diver bezel.
No outsized numerals (like huge 12 on the top).
    Not dressy.
    Price less than five figures.

Here are a couple I had thought about, just as examples.

I had thought about this one, but they no longer sell direct in the US, and the dealer puts a markup on it that makes it too expensive in my opinion:

I also played with the ochs customizer for their annual calendar:

But it's pretty similar to the ochs I already have.

    Suggestions?

That Hentschel looks a lot like the Chronoswiss Sirius (which was somewhat limited.) That is to say, I like it! But is it a sports watch?

Too many watches, not enough wrists.

I think the best option is white 114300, if you can find one.

This was on my radar for a similar spot in my collection, felt really nice on wrist. Nowadays would have to go pre-owned though.

Wempe has recently launched pretty similar model.

This would absolutely be my choice, and still is, but I'm not willing to pay the premium for one since it has been discontinued recently. I'm kinda bitter about it, and have shunned the new 41s.

Just look at that frosty sandy white dial. Damn.

A preowned white dial Milgauss can be found at $7K or just over.

I'd say the bezel of the Hentschel is what makes it sporty vs. the Chronoswiss.

The white OP is definitely nice, but I'm still holding out hope to acquire one of the new turquoise dial 41mm versions, and I wouldn't want both. Also wouldn't want a watch that has an integrated bracelet as I would like the option to have a strap--in fact, I'd kind of prefer a strap although a conventional bracelet that can be removed would be OK.
