    Rolex window shopping

Before you read any further this thread does not end in a purchase.

With time on my hands I decided to visit my local Rolex AD to see what they had in stock.
    First up 39mm Oyster Perpetual.
In blue with the green dots.
Very nice size, fitted me well with no adjustments - however I am left with only one possible adjustment in the clasp - it does not have the lock in/out extra small link that the sportier models have.

Next on was the platinum dial yacht master.

This was again a perfect fit and the size spot on. The dial is unusual with a grainy texture. I feel this would be an interesting choice but has stiff competition from its blue brother.

A really lovely shade of blue. The light in the shop was a bit harsh overhead so pictures don't really do it justice.
Both of these have the advantage of the link that easily clips in and out.

Finally something that was not on display but I asked and they brought this out from the safe.
    A real beauty....

The straps come in 3 lengths - the assistant was not 100% but I think this is the long.
A good fit for my 7.5" wrist.
The gold case is beautiful, polished curvey. There was a solid weighty gold feel to the watch but even with the weight there was no movement with the strap correctly adjusted.
I stopped at trying on 4 but did see the white gold GMT as well as all the usual suspects.
    Regards Mark

I like textured dials, but my choice is the gold one. I've already saved CDN $2.65 for it.

I have a big birthday next year and want to see as many options as I can before deciding.
I have not tried the yacht master before and it is a nice combination of dressy and sporty.

I wish the blue Yachtmaster had a blue or black bezel.

They all look good on you. But I don't like the green pips on the blue-dialed DJ. What were they thinking? A carryover from that new SeaDweller?

I've seen the platinum dialed YM in the flesh, and it is really nice. I couldn't justify it since I've got a Hulk (well, I can't justify it anyway), but it's lovely. From your pictures and Mikey's the blue dial one also looks spectacular.

Can't believe you didn't even buy one of them.
