Polishing a brushed watch case

I have a couple Panerai homage cases that I am working on but both of them have brushed mid-cases and I wanted polished.

So the tools I am using.



Ryobi hard metal cleaning compounds. I used the stainless steel and white rouge.



Dremel with polishing wheel and 1000 grit sandpaper.
You will notice the Dremel has some blue painters tape wrapped around it. My hand slipped and that part hit the case. It damaged the finish and I had to bust out the 400 sandpaper to sand it down.





Cases.

The steps.
First I sanded case with the 1000 sandpaper.
Second took a polishing wheel for the Dremel and loaded it with the stainless steel compound. I then took this to the case with the Dremel on the lowest setting.
This will leave a black residue behind.

This can wiped off with a microfiber towel.
Next I repeated the above steps with the white rouge compound. It is a less aggressive compound.

I do the exact same thing for the exact same reason, very annoying when it happens.
