    2021 Who died this year

British actor Alan Igbon. Like many British actors of this generation (Ray Winstone for instance) he came up in the borstal drama Scum. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Igbon

I think I’ve mentioned it before, but Scum was filmed in the hospital where I did my psychiatric nurse training. The cast, mostly in prison uniform, lined up with us in the canteen.

I don’t think I knew this. Must have been surreal.

Similarly, I temped at the BBC studios in Ealing or Acton (about 1980) and the canteen was always full of actors in all sorts of costumes.

Walking into the canteen, and not knowing that there was filming going on, I thought we had a chain gang working in the hospital.

The head gardener’s wife had the biggest shock. She knew that the greenhouses had been used for an important scene, so wanted to see the film.

So there she was in a St Alban’s cinema, a very prim lady with her handbag on her lap, watching what might be the most brutal homosexual rape ever to appear on the silver screen. Her husband told the story well in the hospital social club.

It seems she has recovered, a bit.

To be clear—-Tanya Roberts has not recovered from death. It appears she had not died after all but instead suffered a sudden and severe health crisis. She is in the hospital. The confusion occurred because of an inaccurate statement from her publicist.
