    For Der Amf... 36 v 40

So, you asked a bit about how the 36mm wears on the wrist. These two pictures from my other post reminded me:

This gives you a good comparison to the larger Sub. I had thought about your question, and I measured the crystals. I think there are. Few reasons it wears larger than expected:

Sub and the OP both have 30mm diameter crystals, so the same size face
It's just the Sub's bezel which makes it a little larger, and we all know it's the face size that gives the watch it's rperceived size
The bezel is near vertical on the OP, and gives the watch a bit of height
The bracelets are the same width
It feels "solid" on the wrist

Hope that, with the pictures, helps..

The newer super cases on the Rolex, especially the Oyster, then to wear bigger thanks to the wide lugs, at least IMHO.

My 36mm Oyster feels almost the same on my wrist as my 40mm Sub-No date.

Going by this do you think the 39mm OP will actually wear bigger than the Sub ? Logically it must have a bigger crystal and face than these 2.

Good question, I don't know... I did not like the look of it in the flesh so didn't try it on. Worth re bearing that my Sub is the olde, slimmer cased model..

Thinking about it, the 39mm Explorer I tried wore pretty large straight after wearing my Sub..

That OP is very nice. It even looks as if it has AR treatment?

    Here's a comparison on my 6" wrist.

Event though both are similar, the 36mm Exp I case, does have a lesser lug-to-lug length by ~1-2mm compared to the 40mm Sub.

    40mm Sub no date
