An impressive collection of Frogs. That’s one series I never owned. They were a bit too big for me - and too specialist in function.

Blimey, some special ones there. I had no idea you had all these. And in excellent condition - no resin rot?

I think the better question for this forum would be, "Is there anyone on IWL that doesn't own at least one G?"

Love ‘em. I can confirm they can take a beating and a lot of dirt, sand and salt water, which is why I like them. For the summer months, they’re pretty much all I wear. Constant resin use does eventually irritate my skin but the titanium square GMWB5000T series can be worn for months on end without any skin irritation or indentations.
It seems simple enough and there are worse horological rabbit holes to just dive head first down, but a bit of reading and research wouldn’t go astray. Research on the WUS g-shock forum or here - tribe put together a great thread titled the trouble with g-shocks. There are also inexplicable variations between iterations of the same model, nuances in the resin stiffness and durability, tricky battery changes etc.
Here’s what I wore today. The rarest one I own (not that rare at all): gwm5600a3jf - vintage green screen square, very comfortable.
A custom grey square I put together with a fresh resin that should fit virtually identically to the above but feels quite different and is nowhere near as comfortable.
G-Lide square JDM - the glossy black is actually a lot blacker than the matte black resins on others - gwx56001jf
DW5900 - bigger than the squares but somehow, the most comfortable fit and my second favourite after the titanium square
DW6900 - also bigger than the squares but somehow more comfortable - second most comfortable resin I’ve tried after the 5900 above
The titanium square - gmw-b5000tcm-1 - 98g sized for me and simply perfection
The above I actually wear. Another g-shock trap is garish limited editions that you buy to tick a box, don’t look that good and you don’t wear. For example, the DW5700SF Sneaker Freaker LE. Uncomfortable resin, looks garish.
The other observation I’d make is that most of us don’t even need g-shocks most of the time. Standard $20 Casios do the trick and probably meet the original g-shock triple 10 design concept anyway. Here is arguably the best value, best all-round watch you can buy for under a lot of money. My mother broke her watch over Christmas and just stole mine. Flagrant. AE1200WH.

There has been some resin rot on a few of the Raysmen — though I have duplicates of most of them. The resin on those models, sadly, is prone to that problem as you know. The other issue with Raysman models is that the solar cells have reached the end of their useful life. Many will not hold a charge. This isn’t surprising; the watch was released in 1998. It is the ancestor of all of the current “Tough Solar” models.
I have also had some resin rot issues on the original Mudman series (DW-8400), particularly on the thin resin that covers the buttons.
