    **** Ismy seiko collection ****

well guess I might link this into the wruw post I am doing at the minute so will link in each days post to here too

well guess I have been promising to do a what seiko's does ismy have in his collection so guess the title should be vintage seiko fan boy collection

so first is a seiko 7009-3170 automatic from around 1989 from a quick guess .. with a time right bracelet and clasp if becoming keepers (well going to hold on to them for any length of time I try to sort their bracelets (repair if can replace if not or never came on one -do keep the bits sometime to use on others , if some of the bracelets there) so yes this one has the right age and type to it

so todays Seiko is not going to be a keeper slightly dial peeling in the corner between 12 and 1:30 and have not been able to source the bracelet so think going to swap the bracelet as this expanders I use so then think be flipping it ...

so lets see July 1980 I make it to be and it's a 7123-5100 so bit rarer make and case shape pity really if mint right bracelet might have been a keeper

todays seiko is a SQ (which means seiko quartz-seiko quartz ) this one is a 8c23-6040 so that dates to either December 1994 or 2004 I think 94 as early ish ref num and some wear and the bracelet had to be repaired due to stretching and twisting so think was some use so gone December 94 as my choice of year of manufacture

todays instalment of seiko is a seiko 5H23-8010 SQ100 (SQ100 means water rating but I would not chance it ) from November ,1985, well could be 1995 but wear ref etc etc happy to say 85 well bought this one for it's box as had already days early bought a white dial SQ100 but saw this look in bad ways on leather looked well beat up etc so thought want the box ( I like to get vintage boxes to match the vintage watch / bracelet if a keeper ) so price ant bad and won the lot . turn up the box was not as good as the pic lead me to believe but the watch turn out better had to source a bracelet and do some polishing and what not but turn out fair so ended up with two but that problem was easy solve was showing them to my dad say which should I flog and he went like this one so now I will give it to him

ok todays is a seiko SQ 7546-8040 from July 1977,1987 would lean to end of 77 from ref and con but could have been the very start of 87 poss but probably not ... got this out of a joblot with a dual time Seiko amongst others ..

well doing this got me round to sorting my lordmatic out it has sat in a box last few years as could not source a bracelet easily or inexpensively (not paying more for the bracelet then I did the watch ) so any way I got round to try to fix it as had found parts of the original one so managed to make a bracelet for it thats right well looks right new and old bits thou but like to think you would not be able to see them so that will be sundays treat

this is probably one of the longest seikos I have had and probably one of the oldest as this is a 5605-5110 lordmatic so say feb of 1973 broke the bracelet a few years back so been in a box since so I just rebuilt the bracelet the other day so yes one of my keepers fo sure

ok seiko lets swap this up had a few types of these . but just got this one right now the crystals a bit shot and it has a wonky crown and stem that I will need to replace or maybe might tweak it if lucky at some point but as it is a seiko h556-500a from aug 1982 I think if I remember right

ok then todays seiko is a 5y23 they made these from 1988 to hmmm 2012 I would say now this one is a seiko 5y23-8a11 so my thinking is dec 1990 from the ref num being quite low . and con one of the more seen seiko movements have several of these in parts so spare case / dial /hands you never know when you might find one to swap out parts on .
