Video games - what are you playing?
Any gamers out there? I know Raza and Geoff like a little Call of Duty and ISMY plays Dead Island a lot but what about everyone else?
Through my 20s and early 30s I played a LOT. My first proper console was the Playstation 1 and that started a slippery slope that saw me buy every major console released after that up until the current generation (of which I only have a Wii U). I also went backwards to the 16 bit era and had a Mega Drive/Genesis and SNES which I bought second hand. Whilst I've enjoyed games on all the platforms, my heart has belonged to Nintendo ever since I got an N64 and plugged Goldeneye and Mario 64 into it. That (and the fact I have a young son) probably explains why it's the Wii U I've gone for this generation.
My hardcore gaming pretty much ended when my son was born (my Xbox 360 and PS3 have been unused in the last 5 years or so) and I hadn't even played that much on the Wii U until recently when I've got into it again with a vengeance. Current faves are Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Brothers, Hyrule Warriors, Splatoon and Luigi's Mansion 2 on the 3DS. I also play far too much Word Chums on my phone.
Faves over the years would be:
Halo, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye, Sega Rally, Mario 64, Gran Turismo, Soul Calibur, Shenmue, Jet Set Radio, SNK vs Capcom Match of the Millennium, pretty much all the Dead or Alive games (), GTA Vice City, Pilotwings

I recently went in search of online emulators of games I had enjoyed as a kid. Repton 2 was a bit dull and easy to work out now, but Dark Star was terrifyingly fast. I concluded I didn't have the patience either way.

Installed ScummVM on my tablet and played through first two installments of Monkey Island. Much fun. Otherwise been meaning to get one of the new gen consoles, but not sure how much playing I would do. Mostly sports games for me traditionally, with Madden topping the list.

Don't remember Dark Star, but I did play Repton 1 and 2 as a boy. I think my faves from that era were Chuckie Egg, Elite and Pole Position

Man, did me and my brother play pole position a lot. Remember the small colored strips denoting the deterioration of the tires.
