Hi folks! Kemmner Tourbillon (on iyonk) for my Sunday, with Sea-Gull ST800. Cliché might "affordable luxury" because it really is a well made complication that makes nice wiggly circles every minute, to please the eye. When you see me talking about watch size and my preference for small watches, this is an example of the top of my tolerance zone, at 42mm. You can see from the wrist shot that it dominates my arm. I don't mind, in this case, because I don't consider it an "everyday watch" and at 11mm thick it doesn't impose too much. But when I ponder buying high-end watches, they tend to be 40mm or smaller.

Too many watches, not enough wrists.

Simple Tourbillons may not be particularly useful on wrist watch movements, but they are a very cool thing to have; no doubt about that.

Watches are man jewelry, plain and simple!

No they aren't! At least, not in absolute terms and certainly not to me. I'm used to use a wrist watch to tell the time. Yes...well...you know...

Besides, the phone is not a practical replacement; otherwise we would still use pocket watches.

Maybe that helps to explain why I'm a bit picky with the accuracy, while I carefulyl stay away from precious stones and I dislike excessively decorated movements. I still see a watch (mainly) as an amazing mechanical instrument

Not exactly, because (to me) it needs to be analog for a quick reading and an instrument doesn't need to be ugly.
