WatchTimes WatchInsider Wears the Apple Watch For A Week - Interesting Perspective
I know many here think the Apple Watch is blasphemy. This article from WatchTime WatchInsider is interesting and he actually liked it. Not to replace his mechanical marvels, but he was impressed with all it can do.
As an Apple Guy (iPhone and iPad), it's only a matter of time before an Apple Watch lands on my wrist. I've read the 2nd generation will include a Facetime camera, so I'll probably wait for it. But I will undoubtedly add one.
Here's the article:

The Dude Abides
Nice article. Still not for me but nice to see other people enjoy it.

I'm not about redundancy with having a phone and a watch for gadgets that do practically the same thing. Until one can fully replace my phone I'm not interested....and it can go on my other wrist or in my pocket. An iPocketwatch that can replace my phone and not replace my mechanical pieces on my wrist. There ya go!

I don't have an iWatch - but I did end up buying a 'Smart watch' - as a consequence of picking up a Garmin Fenix 3 for monitoring and recording my exercise and activities. I hate to say it - but I actually really do find a smart watch useful.
I'll never replace my mechanical watches with one as a day to day watch. But in certain circumstances - needing to see who's calling when I'm on a bike ride without stopping (for instance) - it's invaluable. I could also see how some people (likely most, to be frank) would find the added benefits of a smart watch to be indispensable in a day to day setting. Whether it's checking to see who's emailing or texting you in a meeting, or getting jolted with a reminder to get your butt out of a chair and move a bit.
