    I'm still in a sequence of self-ridicule with watches that others would have trouble distinguishing at even a slight distance. Today gets the 1958 Royal Orient, first year of its ilk. Hand wind still feels like the spring is made of automobile shock absorbers, so stiff but runs steady and accurate, classically designed like all my other sameness watches... it's a thing for me, these thin small silver dialed classics. When I try to sell them to shrink my collection, I don't try very hard.
