    Shanghai 1120 & 7120

    I like Shanghai 1120s. A lot.

Shanghai Watch Factory produced 1120 models in the late 1960s. This is a typical 1120, except the indices are different from others I’m accustomed to seeing.

I put it on an old nylon mesh strap.

The date code on the 18,000 bph SS1 is DB (February 1969).

Less than a decade later, Shanghai Watch Factory was producing hundreds of thousands of 7120 models. I like this example’s textured dial.

I put it on an old Shanghai leather strap.

The date code on the SS7 is DH (August 1977).
