Thread: The Elusive Simple Three Hander

    The Elusive Simple Three Hander

Here's a picture of some of my watches, all with central seconds and no date

There are no subdials or rotating bezels etc, no square dials, no fliegers / divers / field watches (or platinum limited editions)

As far as I can see, the following companies make not a single model in this vein:

    AP
    Ball
    Dugena
    IWC
    Montblanc
    Oris
    Patek
    Piaget
    Tissot
    Vacheron

The company with the most is Rolex:

At this point I found I was very very tired of watch company websites, and I had found just eighteen watches.

You're showing my kinda watch. Interesting that PP doesn't have one... I see the Patek Calatrava usually has either a sub-seconds OR a date window. There is one that has no seconds hand. Is that against your rules?

Too many watches, not enough wrists.

Very much so, there are plenty of dressy two handers.

The date OR small seconds thing is very common. I think modern designers are too scared to leave a daily wearer style watch with a blank dial.

I'm now in a position to write the definitive post about irritating watch websites

I was very surprised at JLC not having at least one in their Master range.

Obviously it's one reason that you and I both have a bunch of vintage watches... here are mine that fit your criteria:

maybe the Kopernik is a bit of a stretch...

Sub-seconds allow for a slimmer watch, which may account for their prevalence in some catalogues.

Or you can turn to China. Most specifically Shanghai. They have done their reissues without date.

    Does quartz count?
