    Casio AW-82 Mini Review

The Casio AW-82 is designed for fishermen, but it's robust features have many uses from the city to the country.

    .

It is on the smallish side and VERY light. Some may want a more substantial feeling. It is one of those amazing "bang for the buck" watches that Casio. can do so well.

For under U.S.$30, the watch is packed with features. Here are the specs from Casio:

    Resin Glass / Spherical Glass
    50-meter water resistance
    Case / bezel material: Resin
    Resin Band
    LED light
    Afterglow
    Dual time
    Fishing mode
The suitability of a specific date and time for fishing is indicated as one of five levels.
Moon data (Moon age of the input data, Moon phase graph)
    1/100-second stopwatch
    Measuring capacity: 23:59'59.99"
Measuring modes: Elapsed time, split time, 1st-2nd place times
    Countdown timer
    Measuring unit: 1 second
    Countdown range: 24 hours
Countdown start time setting range: 1 minute to 24 hours (1-minute increments and 1-hour increments)
    Others: Auto-repeat, time up alarm
    Multi-function alarms
    3 independent multi-function alarms (2 one-time alarms and 1 snooze/one-time alarm)
Alarm type: Daily alarm, date alarm, 1-month alarm, monthly alarm
    Hourly time signal
    Full auto-calendar (to year 2099)
    12/24-hour format
    Button operation tone on/off
    Regular timekeeping:
Analog: 2 hands (Hour, minute; hands moves every 20 seconds)
Digital: Hour, minutes, seconds, am/pm, month, date, day, daylight saving on/off
    Accuracy: ±30 seconds per month
Approx. battery life: 10 years on CR2025
    Size of case: 46.8 × 40 × 13.5 mm
    Total weight: 34 g
    LED:Amber

    Only a few criticisms:

Even for Casio's very low end, the strap feels plasticky, flimsy and cheap. I will likely replace it.

The LED is useless, of course, on the digital functions. I found it inadequate for the analog functions (seeing hands and dial) as well.

It has a metal sibling, the AMW-700!

Same module specs but SS housing and mineral glass lens.
I really like those weird functionality in a watch!

    Nice feature set.

2025 battery would probably last more than 10 years.
