By TLex Looking for that special Sub to go with your autumnal wardrobe this year? Davosa might just have the answer; they have released a handsome new version of the Ternos in a lovely shade of brown.

Designed with the purist in mind, the new Ternos Vintage does away with a date window and its unsightly magnifier - instead complimenting the dusty brown dial with a splash of vintage-style lume which has been applied to both hands and markers.

Back in the day, radium salt was used in watchmaking as a light source. Luminosity came from its radioactive decay. Of course the use of radium is prohibited today, however in order to create a sense of nostalgia, the Ternos Vintage uses a special 'Old Radium' colored Superluminova which achieves the desired vintage effect without the loss of your teeth or hair.

There are two Ternos Vintage variants - both have the following characteristics: a robust 40mm Stainless steel case with surgical-grade steel screwdown crown and caseback, scratch-resistant ceramic unidirectional rotational divers bezel and Sapphire crystal, a reliable Swiss ETA 2824-2 automatic movement and a water-resistance up to 200 meters.

The massive metal bracelet, with which the Ternos is usually equipped, has not been used for the Ternos Vintage. Instead, the watch has been fitted with a leather strap.

The two strap types are: Vintage Cognac Ref. 161.555.85 and Cracked Vintage Ref. 161.555.95. Each strap is unique, each complimented by a hand-stitched contrasting seam. Over the course of time each band will also develop its own patina. MSRP is 690euro.
