Timex Launches Metropolitan+ Smartwatch

If youíve been considering the purchase of an activity tracker but would prefer that the device not look so much like an activity tracker, you may want to check out the stylish new Metropolitan+ smartwatch from Timex. The first product in the brandís new Connected Style Collection was introduced at this weekís Qualcomm 3G/LTE Summit in Hong Kong.
This is not the first time that Timex has released a wearable device. The brandís Ironman One GPS+ watch came out back in February. Aimed at runners, the Ironman One GPS+ has the standard rectangular digital watch face and the usual features like the ability to track speed, pace and distance. The Metropolitian+ has a very different look, one thatís more likely to appeal to fanciers of traditional timepieces.
What makes the Metropolitan+ different from the Ironman One GPS+ is the look of a traditional menís analog watch. At first glance, the Metropolitan+ resembles a traditional Timex watch with two crowns on the right side and two dials on the round face, but a closer look will reveal that those dials can show the userís activity progress. This gives the watch a cleaner, more classic look than the typical activity tracker.
The Metropolitan+ comes in two eye-catching styles, both with quick-release straps that allow the owner to easily change to one of the many strap options available for the watch. One model combines a black case, a black dial with orange accents and interchangeable straps of black silicone and orange nylon. The second model has a silver-tone case, black dial with red accents and textured leather strap.
Timex has not given a release date for the Metropolitan+ but itís expected to be in stores before the end of the year for $125.00.
