When Parnis was just emerging on Ebay, I sniped a lot of auctions, and bought at least 7 or 8 for $20-$30, which is somewhere below the 20 GBP mark. Just some examples:

(I did sell this one, for 50 )

I think the straps on these were more expensive than the watches themselves

But I also bought quite some vintage SeaGulls in the $10-$20 range, excluding on average $8 shipping, when they were not as collectable as they are now:

I think the colored dials were a tat more expensive.

remember our guys going mad over the parnis white dial and then the silver dial but was a lot more to get them then plus 70 I think it was well caught mate
one night I dreamed I was locked in my fathers watch, with Ptolemy and twenty one ruby stars mounted on spheres and the primum mobile coiled and gleaming to the end of space and the notched spheres eating each other's rinds to the last tooth of time and the case closed - John Ciardi ...

While I loved scoring them in auctions for sub $30 prices, I think I only bought one these watches for $70-80. Because I wanted that movement:

To be honest, I have worn the thing only 3-4 times because it's huge! And I do have multiple 44 to 47mm watches that I wore a lot.

Now I'm gradually switching back to 40mm and below

Using pounds instead of dollars really opens things up. All these were under that price, though the new straps cost more than the watches:
