Once the semester is over and I sell a bunch of my watches, I might splurge and get something cheap.

Not enough disposable income and too much indecision.
Blue Aqua Terra or Grand Seiko GMT?

Can only really justify one of them after the new year but which?

    Congrats on the impending addition!
    +1

Children are a blessing, they will however put a bit of a crimp in the watch budget.

My next purchase is almost certainly a Max Bill Chronoscope. Although I could afford it right now and my wife has told me innumerable times to "just buy it already" I am increasingly reluctant to spend money on any watch these days. Perhaps a sign that I am reaching a point of contentment with the SOTC as currently constituted.

What's stopping me is liking what I've already got. I just know if I get another watch it's just not going to get worn.

Well, I was always stuck between Aqua Terra and 36mm Explorer but the question of do I want another regular three hander comes into it.

Then I spotted that Explorer2 style Grand Seiko GMT and it struck a chord that the actual Explorer2 never did.

It also fulfils my preference for not doubling up on a brand which was one of the three things making me hesitant on the Omega.
Grand Seiko still gives me the Explorer 1 as a non-repeat option.

There's some logic there if we ignore that I do actually want those watches equally. Logic says to go for the one that'll be harder to find later. The well always be an Aqua Terra but the GMT is limited so it's 90% likely
that's how it will turn out.
