Thank you! As you remember, we both looked closely at that sale, and I decided it was worth a punt to try to clean up the scratches on the case. It turned out to be a lot less worn than the seller's pictures implied, so it was one of those very good gambles. I have several that I bought at a good price with scratched cases (Sinn 556a and Stowa Ikarus), and I feel rather good about my abilities to smooth things out.

We love it here. We moved from "Silicon Valley" last year with no regrets. Of course, these Monterey pines pose a fire risk, so our whole neighborhood pays close attention to undergrowth and dead wood. We had a bit of a wake-up call in January when a fire in Big Sur set everyone on edge. It's a challenge now throughout the western states, so none of us are immune.
Too many watches, not enough wrists.
