Vector Smartwatches Have 30-Day Battery Life

Two of the major drawbacks to many of today’s smartwatches are unattractive looks and too-short battery life. Vector has taken care of both issues with a new line of smartwatches that promise “less gadget, more style.”
Vector’s debut collection of smartwatches may not be as “smart” as those from tech brands that come equipped with tons of apps but they’re definitely more stylish. With a dozen different styles having both round and square faces, this collection offers something to appeal to a wide variety of tastes.
The collection is divided into three categories: Performance models with silicone straps, Contemporary models with leather straps and Classic versions with more exotic options in colors and leathers. Cases are available in stainless steel or rose gold plate.
One reason Vector smartwatches avoid the geeky look of competitors is that they don’t have the usual touchscreen. Instead the watch has a monochrome LED display that acts as a notification hub for the user’s iOS or Android smartphone.
The watch face displays text messages, news alerts and event reminders, all streamed directly from the connected device. Text messages are announced by a vibration alert and the user may view the text by lifting a wrist or dismiss it with a quick flick. The lack of complicated features and the low power operating system explain why the Vector watches can boast 30 days of battery life.
Obviously, the user who demands that his or her smartwatch be the Swiss army knife of devices that can do everything except perform brain surgery are not going to be buying any of the Vector watch styles. However, the customer who wants a stylish watch with a traditional look and a few smartwatch features could find the perfect fit among the dozen styles now available for preorder at the Vector site. Prices start at $333.
