According to the VC blog website, "The dials are treated in grisaille enamel. After applying a black enamel base, the enameller adds touches of Limoges white enamel that is then drawn out using needles, extremely fine brushes and even cactus thorns so as to create graded shades and play on the various pigments." OK, but, really??? Maybe for J.R. Ewing...

People with lots of money and no taste (which, like the poor, are with us always) need things to buy

Chinese market? Year of the bull?

Personally, I find most cloisionne (that's right, right?) to be impressive, but autre, and not for me.

    (the Bullring shopping centre)

Was just looking for less tasteful examples of expensive watches - there's a Russian chrono aimed at the oligarch end of their client base, with a 3D panther or naked lady draped alongside the dial.

Couldn't find it, but I did unearth this, and believe that Der Amf is looking for watch suggestions at the mo

Perfect! And unlike the bull, it's not trying to take itself too seriously...

Perhaps a nostalgic tribute to the bull market that led to an up-tick in high-end watch sales?
