'Modular' smartwatch BLOCKS
Not entirely convinced by the hyperbole here, but this does look interesting. Essentially the head of the watch is primarily a display and the bulk of the functionality is controlled by link in the bracelet which contain, for example, a GPS chip.

Things heading in the right direction. One day this kind of thing will be fitted into regular bracelets, I'm sure.
Getting a display into the clasp probably the hardest thing?

Yes, I really think there is some interesting stuff that can be done in that field.

It certainly looks like that could be the way forward with an independent company avoiding the watches becoming obsolete in the way that larger corporations like Apple build into their products.

That is pretty clever. I won't be buying one but it is for sure a neat concept.

Very unique. Not sure if I like it or not, but clever nonetheless.

Thanks for posting, Olly!
Interesting to see how people are riffing round the smart watch concept: I imagine something like this, or Longines' e-strap will be the way ahead for people who like watches and want to stay connected
As for me, I'm looking to extend my tinfoil hat into a discreet full body Faraday cage. Enough already!
It's the final countdown! PM me before they're all gone!

I first thought of modular as in physically - you can change the strap, case, etc to make it look physically different. Maybe even upgrade the internal module after a few years. When I realized that it was modular in terms of software, I don't understand it. Why would I want to buy a watch that is limited to a subset of features? When I buy a smartwatch, I want it to do as much as it can - cover all bases and then add apps as needed via an app store (apple store, android apps, connect iq, etc). I think this is just really milking the cow on their part.
