    G-Shock AWGM-100?

Well, I thought it may happen one day...

The AWGM I have owned for about 15 years appears to be gone. It was one of my most affordable watches, yet it was probably my most worn over that time frame. It stayed strapped to the top, carry handle of my work/travel backpack. The combination of MB6 + world timer made it useful for travel, and it was my go-to for physical activity while traveling.

It has come up missing after my most recent trip, and I suspect someone probably liberated it from my bag. The possibility was always there, but being affordable and worn I thought it may be safe lol

So, the reason for the thread is not to reminisce further or complain.
    ..

I have not purchased a watch in 18 months, but this one will call for a replacement. I do not want to wear my Casioak or carbon fiber G to the gym daily.

The AWGM was a good combo, for me, of size (smaller) + function (mb6, solar, world timer)...

Do I just buy another one, or has something else come out in the last 15 years that I should consider?

Budget is $500, because whatever I get will continuously be strapped to my bag. It worked too well for too long for me to change that lol

No charge, so it doesn’t matter if it gets stolen.

While I don’t wear G-Shocks, there are a few designs I like and I think are worth taking a look at:

    https://www.casio.com/us/watches/gsh...GA-2100BCE-1A/
$120 and it comes with that Cordura eco nylon strap or whatever

    https://www.casio.com/us/watches/gsh....GA-2100FF-8A/
$120, a bit Royal Oakishly reminiscent (wait, is the the “Casioak”?)

And a couple other anadigis are nice too.

Or, for something a little different, how about a Suunto Core Alpha? Higher in your budget at $300, it has some neat features and has passed like 9 military durability tests, whatever that means. I don’t know how many tests there are, so I don’t know if that’s like 9 out of 9 or 9 out of 50, but either way, it’s more than I’ve passed, I just don’t know how impressive it is.

And despite being all digital, I still find it more attractive than the G-Shocks, though I do prefer anadigis to full digital generally.

So far I haven't seen anything other than AWG-M100 to replace my modded AWG-101 that I let go and have had some regrets about it. (The idea was exactly that: to have a strong incentive to buy AWG-M100, improved in that it displays the date and day at the same time). I'm only not buying because there's no pressure and the colourways that surface locally don't really appeal to me (eg red hour hand, dimmed/stealthy indices, negative display or a blue dial; although I might pull the trigger on that blue dial in the end if I 'really need' that model).

What I'm saying is I haven't seen anything like the AWG-M100 over the years, package-wise.
