Luckily, during my period of hyper-watch-acquisition, I imposed an upper price limit that prevented me from really expensive mistakes. I did buy dozens of dumb cheap watches though, and luckily managed to sell off most of the silly ones. I did lust after higher-end baubles, and I drooled over this Glashütte Original Senator perpetual calendar that Ashford was offering for around $9000 for almost a year (it dipped into tempting territory during their holiday sales.) Luckily I never nibbled, and I frequently had to talk myself down with reminders of the high cost, difficulty in reselling, and the fact that I would need to keep it on a winder. Plus it was 42mm and rather too chunky for me. I confess I still have a bit of lingering lust over it.
