Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Honestly, I feel a good pair of gloves prevents 80% of camping injuries.

Sounds wicked. I'm sure this is probably possible in the uk but likely illegal to wild camp so...

well you can actually free camp in some places in the uk dartmoor being one but being the uk their are rules ..no inpact approach ..not seen from road etc etc but most you need landowners permission .. think now a day though dartmoor is the only one maybe ?

but scotland is diff with the 2003 land reform act I believe it's legally under the term of unenclosed land (what ever that means probably glens and moorlands maybe ?

After having a look at reviews, looks viable!

I'm sentimental about 5.11's Rush series, as the 12 served me reliably for 9-10 years, day in, day out, EDC, work and travel. My only complaint would be poor laptop or documents carry, and that's why I went with this a few months ago.

I'm sure there's at least three things on my list that would equal years in prison over there. Very sad.

    I'll say no more.

Primitive/Wild camping was my introduction to it actually. I've slept in a proper "Camper" maybe once in my life. Fond memories in the South Dakota winter, shivering while trying to use your ferro rod to get a Vaseline soaked cotton ball to catch so you can have some warmth. Heating up some water and drinking a hot packet of gelatin for some energy. Many a -25F/-31C night.

    Good times.

Good that there's some sort of option.

Honestly I don't know much about that part of the world, National Parks? "State" Parks? Etc?

The area we are going to will have an entrance fee. I think $40.00 or so dollars. Supposedly that fee goes to upkeep and land management.

While the Rush 24 is getting sold to a friend to offset costs on this most recent one, I will be keeping the Rush 12 I just got last week. It is a great EDC Bag. When I first enlisted the Army Combat Uniform was Woodland Camo, so I'm pretty sentimental about that myself. This recent special run was a must have.

Based on an episode of Not Going Out I saw, I think you might be right. Camping at non-camp sites in the UK appears to be highly restricted. But, it is just a TV show.

    That seems rather strict.

Though I’m pretty sure the population density is a bit higher in some of those areas. I have no idea.

Speaking of wildlife, I forgot there’s a whole Facebook page devoted to sightings of mountain lions here. As it happens, Omaha our largest city is getting more and more sightings on the fringes.

    Big kitties in suburbia.
