I had a branch from my Christmas tree go under my eyelid and scratched my eye in several places a few years ago. It was extremely painful - the good news is that the eye heals remarkably fast. It was only about a day and a half that it hurt. Hope it's a quick recovery for you.

Actually, most eye scratches heal rather quickly. Most. I wore contacts for around 30 years and then did LASIK, which lasted for about ten years. My current contacts are hit/miss; some days, I have to take them out before I've left for work. I keep a pair of glasses in my room just in case. The wife tells me that contacts and older eyes can be difficult. I've been wearing glasses since 3rd grade and I'm really jealous of people with perfect vision.
The eye is very, very red, and it hurts to blink. Well, hurt is a strong word, but some blinks are a bit painful. It's worsened by they eye drops, which induce a couple of seconds of unadulterated pain. Thank you for the well-wishes.

Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Thanks Alan. I only bought it for the very uncommon factory bracelet, which was in rough shape. The watch wasn't running and looked pretty bad.
This is a picture from before I started working on it and it almost flatters the watch as it was.

Hope yours heals quickly. Not nice.
The optician mentioned about using eyelid wipes last year , never heard of before. Gave a few samples to try , and work well.

you could use carbomer if eyes continue to be sore I do it for my dad four times a day plus a latanoprost at night .. but that ones for glaucoma but he does say when I do his carbomer shots it makes it feel a lot better almost straight way.... just trying to remember on the busy days to get the four shots in
